Twin hashish finds see Spanish record tumble twice
Algeciras haul overtaken by 52 tons in Córdoba warehouse

Less than 48 hours after the Civil Guard on Friday made public a 32.3-ton haul of hashish intercepted by authorities in a truck at the port of Algeciras, Spain’s National Police force stumbled across a stash of 52 metric tons of the illegal drug in a warehouse in Córdoba province. The new record haul was found by accident, when agents visited a warehouse in the Torrecilla-Amargacena industrial park because its security alarm was ringing.
The Algeciras find, involving hashish with an estimated street value of 50 million euros, took place late last month, but the details were not revealed by the authorities until Friday in a joint press conference held by the Algeciras Civil Guard and the central government delegate in Andalusia.
