Celebrated Catalan chef Santi Santamaría died on Wednesday at a restaurant he owned in Singapore. Sanatamaría, whose Can Fabes restaurant in Barcelona has held three Michelin stars since 1994, was 53 years old.

The chef was visiting his establishment, Santi, which is run by his daughter in the Marina Bay area of Singapore, when he collapsed at 8.30pm local time.
