What TV shows are coming out in November 2022?

The British monarchy is going through times of profound change, both in real-time and in the upcoming fifth season of The Crown. The Netflix series is one of the highlights of this November’s streaming lineup. Tim Burton’s take on The Addams Family, with Wednesday, will also premiere in the coming weeks. A good dose of nostalgia, in this case with fantasy and adventure, comes with Willow, a sequel to the 1988 film. The Kingdom Exodus, which continues the story created by Lars von Trier in 1994, brings a darker return. Several comedies and a thriller complete this month’s buffet of exciting entertainment options.

But November doesn’t stop there. The month started with The Winchesters (HBO Max), a prequel to Supernatural. For those looking for light stories, Grey’s Anatomy (Disney+), The Sex Lives of College Girls (HBO Max) and even The Simpsons (Disney+) return this month. In Argentina’s El Fin del Amor (Prime Video), Lali Espósito takes a stand against romance, while Echo 3 (Apple TV+) brings an action thriller with Luke Evans and Michiel Huisman.

More premieres: Dangerous Liaisons (Lionsgate+) imagines the origins of the characters from the famous novel; 1899 (Netflix) is the new project from the creators of Dark. And to top it off, in November, two of the most popular Spanish series return with new seasons: Elite (Netflix) and La Que Se Avecina (Prime Video).

Reboot: The Reunion

Reboot is about the dysfunctional cast of an early 2000s hit sitcom. In Reboot: Reunion, the cast gets together again, and the actors have to deal with the unresolved issues between them and how they fit into today’s world. Steve Levitan, co-creator of the highly successful Modern Family, returns to television with this satire. Keegan-Michael Key, Rachel Bloom and Johnny Knoxville are some of the stars of the critically acclaimed series.

The Kingdom: Exodus

The first two parts of The Kingdom, the series by Lars von Trier about the neurology wing of a Copenhagen hospital where internees and staff suffer a series of supernatural phenomena, were released in 1994 and 1997. Dubbed Europe’s Twin Peaks, the show returns with a sleepwalking woman who mysteriously ends up one night in front of the hospital. Lars von Trier and Niels Vorsel are again behind the script, and the cast includes Nordic film stars such as Lars Mikkelsen, Nikkolaj Lie Kaas, Mikael Persbrandt and Alexander Skarsgard.

The Crown

The Crown, one of the most high-level productions on television, returns for its fifth season to continue narrating the history of the United Kingdom through the life of the British royal family. The plot starts in 1991 and advances only a few years (the death of Diana of Wales, in 1997, will be narrated in the next season). The story will be full of flavor: in these episodes, the queen will deal with a new prime minister, John Major, and with several family crises, including the publication of an intimate conversation between Charles and Camila and the publication of the book Diana: A True Story. Imelda Staunton, Dominic West, Jonathan Pryce, Elizabeth Debicki and Lesley Manville are among the cast.

Where and when to see it? All 10 episodes will premiere on November 9 on Netflix.

Mythic Quest

In the third season of Mythic Quest, which focuses on the creators of an online video game, Ian and Poppy continue trying to understand each other, this time as partners in a new studio. The series, which had a very good first and second season, has the challenge of proving whether it can continue entertaining viewers. Working in its favor, is its cast of characters whose quirks and flaws are endearing to viewers.

Where and when to see it? It returns on the 11th on Apple TV+ with weekly episodes.

Wednesday

Jenna Ortega is Wednesday, the teenage daughter of Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez Adams (Luis Guzmán) in the series directed by Tim Burton. The first trailers for Wednesday indicate that it will combine black comedy with a gothic air, mixed with high school drama and mystery. The plot unfolds at Nevermore Academy, where Wednesday Addams struggles to master her psychic ability while trying to put an end to a wave of murders. At the same time, she tries to solve a murder involving her parents 25 years ago. Meanwhile, she deals with the usual problems of any teenager. Only Wednesday is not a normal teenager.

Willow

Willow, the 1988 fantasy-adventure classic, returns in series form, fitting for 2022. The story takes place years after the events narrated in the film. An event will force the group of characters to leave the castle walls to seek the help of the wizard Willow. The series brings back some of the characters and actors from the film (including Warwick Davis). Judging by the trailers, it has the classic teen fantasy-adventure feel of the film, albeit with obvious modern touches.

The Patient

Steve Carell plays a therapist who is a prisoner of one of his patients, a serial killer, who demands that his psychologist end his homicidal impulses. To do so, he must enter the mind of the psychopath. During his captivity, the psychologist reviews his own past and confronts his own repressed problems, such as the death of his wife and his son’s estrangement. American critics have highlighted Carell’s performance and the claustrophobic ambience of the new series from the creators of The Americans.
