Ivana Trump, the first wife of former US President Donald Trump, has died at the age of 73. They were married from 1977 to 1992. The couple divorced long before Trump, then a controversial real estate mogul, entered politics. The couple had three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric Trump.

In a statement, her children described her as “a survivor” and ““an incredible woman — a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend.”

“She fled from communism and embraced this country. She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion and determination. She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children and ten grandchildren,” said the statement, alluding to her early years in what was then Czechoslovakia.

In a statement of his own on his Truth Social platform, Donald Trump remembered his first wife as a “She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life.”
