Taylor Swift announces docuseries about ‘The Eras Tour’ and extended concert film
The launch of her new production will be on December 12th on Disney+ and the artist will reveal the ins and outs of her latest tour, with appearances by Ed Sheeran and Sabrina Carpenter

If there’s one thing Taylor Swift loves, it’s springing surprises on people. The 35-year-old singer loves to leave her fans speechless, dropping clues (sometimes years in advance) to keep them searching and thinking. And this Monday, just 10 days after releasing her latest album, all those “Easter eggs,” as she calls them, culminated in a big announcement: a new docuseries.
Starting December 12, on Disney+, Disney’s streaming platform, fans can watch six episodes of The End of an Era, where the singer will reveal the ins and outs of The Eras Tour, which included almost 150 concerts and performances in front of 10 million people. Starting in March 2023 in Arizona and ending in December 2024 in Vancouver (Canada), it became the highest-grossing tour in history and made her a billionaire. During many of her shows, fans noticed professional recording equipment on stage or among the audience, and they had been waiting for just this sort of material for months.
Now, one year after the end of the tour, Swift will close the year with the docuseries. That final concert, held at Vancouver’s BC Arena on December 8th, will also be available to stream on Disney+, recorded in full.
The artist already brought The Eras Tour to theaters (and later to the same platform) in October 2023. That became a huge cinematic-musical phenomenon that drew millions of people to venues around the world. This time, in principle, it will only be available in homes. But for the first time, she will incorporate the new segment that she added to the tour in the spring of 2024, when her European leg began: after she released her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, in April 2024, she incorporated a series of songs from it in her subsequent concerts.
“It was the End of an Era and we knew it,” Swift wrote on social media to announce the release. “We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down. And to film the final show in its entirety.” According to a Disney statement, the six episodes will chronicle the development, impact, and ins and outs that led to the phenomenon that was The Eras Tour.

The first two episodes of the documentary will be available to watch on Friday, December 12th, the next two on the 19th, and the last two on the 26th. In them, as shown in the 89-second clip that the artist has posted on social media, viewers can see the rehearsals and preparations for the concerts, as friends and companions appear on stage such as Ed Sheeran and Sabrina Carpenter, as well as Swift’s sentimental partner, the American football player Travis Kelce, who made a special appearance at one of her London concerts, at Wembley Stadium.
On October 12th, ABC’s Good Morning America (owned by the Disney conglomerate) announced on its social media that it had a major announcement for Monday, October 13th, which is also Taylor Swift Day in the United States. Swift typically makes big announcements during this morning TV slot, and since she herself has ruled out going on tour in recent interviews, many were pointing to this documentary. Finally, it happened.
According to Variety, the Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The End of an Era series is directed by Don Argott, co-directed by Sheena M. Joyce, and produced by Object & Animal. The concert is directed by Glenn Weiss and produced by Taylor Swift Productions in association with Silent House Productions.
Swift’s energy seems inexhaustible. While on tour, she released a 31-song album that she wrote and recorded in between shows, and which she later incorporated into the tour. She also made another album, her 12th, The Life of a Showgirl, which she recorded in Sweden during the breaks from the Eras Tour and released on October 3rd. With it, she has broken new records, selling four million albums in the United States and placing herself at the top of global music streaming.
As if that weren’t enough, she also created a music video and a series of behind-the-scenes content that she put together into a short 89-minute documentary film (one of his favorite numbers) that was shown in theaters on October 3rd, 4th, and 5th, grossing $260 million worldwide, $180 million in the U.S. alone. And she promises there are still surprises to come.
