Services held for relatives who died in Burgos fire
Three of six dead in rural lodge blaze were children attending a family gathering

Residents in the Burgos town of Tordómar and relatives on Sunday attended funeral and memorial services for six family members, including three children, who perished when the house they were staying in caught fire early Saturday morning. Five others who were staying at the Ribera del Arlanza rural lodge to celebrate a birthday over the weekend were rushed to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
The venue had been chosen as a halfway point by the family, some members of which live in Madrid while others traveled from Gijón in Asturias.
Investigators believe that sparks from a fireplace may have fallen onto a sofa, which caught alight and started the blaze.
Among the fatal victims were two children ages four and six.
The house is well known in the area, and was popular for both family gatherings and company events.
