Spanish bourse hits new low for the year
Low investor confidence brings down markets across Europe
Investor confidence continued to plummet on Monday, as Spain’s blue chip Ibex 35 hit a new low for a year, giving up as much as 2.5 percent at one point, eventually closing down 1.91 percent at 7,553.2 points. Other European markets also suffered on Monday, with the DAX in Frankfurt down 1.28 percent, and the CAC in Paris down 1.62 percent.
The biggest drop after Monday’s session was Acciona, at -4.59 percent followed by Banco Popular, which closed -4.42 percent.
Only three companies showed gains – Abengoa B, 4.09 percent; Bolsas y Mercados Españoles, 0.48 percent; and FCC, 0.45 percent.
