Tom Hanks film poster incurs fine from Spanish traffic bureau

If riding a motorcycle without a helmet can cost you a 150-euro fine, promoting it through publicity can result in a higher penalty. That is what the DGT traffic bureau ruled when it imposed a 30,000-euro fine on TriPictures for movie publicity on Tom Hank's new film Larry Crowne.

Posters and other releases show Hanks and his co-star Julia Roberts riding a motor scooter without helmets.

DGT sources explain that the Road Security Law "prohibits making justifications for bold conduct and not complying with the rules."

Last year, Barcelona fined Colombian singer Shakira 400 euros for riding on back of a motorcycle without a helmet while filming her videoclip Loca.
