Glencore exec becomes fourth richest Spaniard after IPO
Company executive Daniel Francisco Maté overtakes Fadesa chief Manuel Jove on Spain's rich list
The IPO of Swiss raw material supplier Glencore has transformed company executive Daniel Francisco Maté into Spain's fourth-richest man, according to Forbes magazine.
The San Sebastián-born 47-year-old, who owns six percent of the firm, has seen his assets increase to $3.7 billion 2.5 billion euros) with the operation, which values the firm at $61 billion (41.8 billion euros).
As a result, he overtakes Fadesa chief Manuel Jove on Spain's rich list. Ahead lies Inditex owner Amancio Ortega ($31 billion), Mango boss Isac Andik ($6.1 billion) and Ortega's ex-wife Rosalía Mera ($4.2 billion).
