Today, music takes over the Empire Polo Club in Indian Village (California) to inaugurate the 2024 edition of Coachella, one of the most important music festivals in the world. As has become a tradition, the event’s lineup will be divided into two weekends and will include a wide range of music for all tastes, and the attendance of more than 125,000 people per day.

Since it was announced earlier this year, the list of artists performing at the festival is not only one of the most diverse to date, but also one of the most promising because it includes the return of the American band No Doubt after several years away from the stage. Another who will reappear singing in the desert is Lana Del Rey and artists Doja Cat and Tyler The Creator.

Latinos will be well represented with Peso Pluma, J Balvin, Carín León, Bizarrap, Ecuadorian duo Hermanos Gutiérrez, Girl Ultra and Depresión Sonora, among others. A total of 20 Latin artists will perform at Coachella this year.

In 2023, Bad Bunny became the first Latin American artist to headline the festival in the show’s history, while Rosalía revalidated her superstar status at the event, demonstrating the platform it represents for any artist seeking global exposure.

Coachella 2024 dates

The festival will begin on Friday, April 12 and culminate its first weekend on Sunday, April 14. It will then take a four-day break to resume presentations on Friday, April 19, Saturday, April 20 and Sunday, April 21.

First weekend performances and schedules

The first day will feature headliners Peso Pluma, scheduled to perform at 9:05 p.m., and Lana Del Rey at 11:20 p.m. (Los Angeles time), both on the Coachella stage. In between these two concerts, Justice will perform at the Outdoor Theatre at 10:15 p.m., and a little earlier, specifically at 7:45 p.m., Bizarrap will be on the Sahara stage.

On Saturday 12, Jungle will perform at 8:40 p.m. at the Outdoor Theatre, while on the Coachella stage, No Doubt will perform at 9:25 p.m., and Tyler The Creator will close at 11:40 p.m. To end the first weekend, Carin Leon will perform on the Coachella stage at 5:25 p.m., followed by J Balvin at 8:20 p.m. and Doja Cat at 10:25 p.m.

The surprise of Coachella 2024 was the announcement of Vampire Weekend’s presentation, after having just released their fifth album, but they will only perform the first weekend of the event, specifically on Saturday 13 at 5:00 p.m., at the Outdoor Theatre. The rest of the performances will be repeated on the second weekend, but schedules have not yet been announced.

What is the significance of Coachella in the music industry?

To celebrate Coachella’s 25th anniversary, YouTube Originals has produced a documentary called Coachella: 20 Years in the Desert to bring together the performances and stories that shaped one of music’s most important events. The film includes interviews and performances from several of the most important artists of our time, including Billie Eilish, Daft Punk, LCD Soundsystem, Björk, Madonna, Moby, Radiohead and many more.
