Oscars 2023: Where to watch the nominated films

The nominees for the 95th edition of the Academy Awards can be seen in theaters and on streaming platforms

The 95th edition of the Academy Awards will take place at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on March 12. Leading the race is Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinart’s Everything Everywhere All At Once, which has 11 Oscar nominations. It is followed by Martin McDonagh’s The Banshees of Insisherin and Edward Berger’s All Quiet on the Western Front, which have both received nine nods.

As the height of award season approaches, here is a guide on where to watch the movies nominated for this year’s Oscars.

The Banshees of Insisherin

The recent adaptation of Erich Maria Remarque’s novel recounts the horrors of war through the life of Paul Bäumer, a young man who joins the German army during the First World War.

The Fabelmans

The Steven Spielberg film, based on the director’s childhood, follows the life of Sammy Fabelman, a boy who dreams of being a filmmaker in the post-war United States.

The Whale

An English teacher tries to save his relationship with his daughter while facing discrimination and health problems related to his obesity.

Avatar: The Way of Water

Ex-soldier Jake Sully begins a new life on Pandora, the planet that he explored in the saga’s first film. Along with the Na’vis, he must confront human ambition once again.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

After the death of King T’Challa, Wakanda forms an alliance with the underwater kingdom of Talon to confront world superpowers and their attempts to extract vibranium.

Elvis

The divisive biopic, directed by Australian filmmaker Baz Luhrmann, explores the King of Rock’s origins, rise to fame and downfall, focusing on the relationship between Elvis and his manager, Tom Parker.

Everything Everywhere All At Once

A Chinese immigrant dealing with tax issues and a chaotic personal life discovers she can travel between parallel universes.

Top Gun: Maverick

Three decades after his retirement, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) must return to the air to train a group of pilots and direct one last mission.

Argentina, 1985

Based on real events, the drama tells the story of the prosecutor Julio César Strassera and the trial of heads of the Argentine military dictatorship during the country’s return to democracy.

Triangle of Sadness
