Soccer star Iker Casillas and partner Sara Carbonero get married in secret
The TV journalist and the former Real Madrid player are currently expecting their second child
Former Real Madrid soccer star Iker Casillas and TV reporter Sara Carbonero got married in secret on March 20, in the Madrid suburb of Boadilla del Monte. The ceremony was carried out by one of the three notaries in the area, judicial sources have confirmed to EL PAÍS.
The celebrity couple’s wedding was only attended by two witnesses and their two-year-old son Martín.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper, who now plays for Porto, and the sports journalist wanted the wedding to be an intimate affair and almost just a formality, given that the couple have for a long time said that they didn’t need papers to feel that they were committed to one another.
Shortly after the ceremony Casillas traveled to Italy with the Spanish national team while Carbonero appeared at a public event representing a brand. Neither gave any clue to the fact that their civil status had changed just days before.
The couple began their relationship in 2010, and are expecting the birth of their second child in June.
