Benidorm breaks its own record for overnight hotel stays
More than 11 million people visited the popular Costa Blanca resort last year, says report

For the first time ever, Benidorm saw more than 11 million hotel overnight stays in 2015, according to figures from the National Statistics Institute (INE). The popular Costa Blanca resort tripled the number of overnight stays in the city of Valencia, and came fourth in the overall ranking.
The numbers, which were compiled and supplied to the INE by the HOSBEC hotel association, rank Barcelona (18.4 million) at the top of the list, followed by Madrid (17.8 million) and San Bartolomé de Tirajana in Gran Canaria.
Benidorm is the primary vacation choice on the Iberian peninsula, followed by island destinations. Elsewhere on the list, Lloret de Mar in Catalonia ranked 10th while Valencia placed 17th on the list.
