Penélope Cruz gives birth to baby girl
Madrid clinic confirms arrival of second child of actress and Javier Bardem
Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem have become parents for the second occasion, the Clínica Rúber Madrid confirmed to Efe newswire on Tuesday – this time to a little girl.
The actors, who are already mom and dad to two-year-old Leo, remained overnight at the hospital, according to the clinic’s press officer Miguel Fernández Vega.
The 39-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean actress, who revealed she was pregnant for the second time in February, was last seen on the streets of Madrid at the weekend when she attended a performance at the Circo Price theater, where Bardem played the bongos during one of the songs. The actor had returned from working abroad last week to be with his heavily pregnant wife.
The couple, who married in the Bahamas in July 2010, are fiercely protective of their private life and have done their best to allow Los Angeles-born Leo grow up away from the cameras.
They returned from Hollywood several months ago to take up residence in Madrid, where they plan to continue their family life.
