Bon Jovi waive performance money for Madrid gig
Rock band wanted to lower ticket prices for crisis-affected Spanish fans
Members of rock band Bon Jovi are keeping the faith with their cash-strapped Spanish fans – by waiving their appearance fee for their upcoming Madrid concert.
The group had initially left the Spanish capital off the list of stops on their latest world tour because they were concerned tickets would not sell because of the economic crisis, lead singer Jon Bon Jovi explained to daily El Mundo.
But they decided they would put it back on the schedule by performing for free to lower ticket prices.
The cheap 18- to 39-euro tickets for the June 27 gig at the Vicente Calderón stadium have already sold out.
