Paco Delgado, Les Misérables costume designer, gets Oscar nod for Spain
Naomi Watts nominated in best actress category for Spanish smash The Impossible

Costume designer Paco Delgado and actress Naomi Watts were the main names of Spanish interest in the nominations for this year’s Academy Awards, which were announced in Hollywood on Thursday.
Delgado was nominated for his work on the film adaptation of long-running stage musical Les Misérables, while Australian actress Watts was recognized for her role in Spanish production The Impossible, director J. A. Bayona’s drama about the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.
Among the Spaniards who lost out was actor Javier Bardem, who failed to gain a nod for his role as the villain in the latest James Bond flick, Skyfall.
Steven Spielberg’s biopic Lincoln led the running with 12 nominations, followed by Ang Lee’s Life of Pi with 11.
The ceremony will be held on February 24 in Los Angeles
