Valencia FC player sees new Ferrari go up in flames
Argentine footballer suffers second car misfortune

It seems the Argentine soccer player Ever Banega does not have much luck when it comes to cars. Last February, the midfielder for Valencia FC broke his leg in two places when his own Audi R8 ran him over at a gas station. And on Monday his fortunes took a turn for the worse, when his brand-new Ferrari spontaneously burst into flames.
Banega was unhurt in the incident, but most of his red sports car was reduced to little more than ashes after burning down near the sports facilities of Paterna, the soccer club confirmed on Tuesday.
The accident happened at around 6pm, when the vehicle was tackling the last curve on the road to the Valencian sports complex. The driver looked in the rearview mirror and saw smoke and flames coming out of the back of his vehicle.
Banega got out of the car and ran to get help. In the meantime, the fire spread to the nearby trees and bushes, forcing local firefighters to come out to prevent another wildfire, in a region that is highly prone to them at this time of the year.
Second incident
Banega's previous accident took place on February 19, when he broke his tibia and fibula after stopping at a gas station and forgetting to put on the handbrake. The car rolled forward and trapped his leg between a wheel and the curb.
Banega is still recovering from that injury, which required surgery the next day.
