Del Bosque stays loyal to his World Cup winners

Adrián López's debut goal for Spain in a 2-0 win over Serbia on Saturday was not enough for him to force his way into the squad for the European Championships, which Vicente del Bosque announced the following day.

The Atlético striker missed out on the final cut, as did Valencia's Roberto Soldado, despite a hat-trick against Venezuela in February. Sevilla's Álvaro Negredo bagged the final srtrikers' spot, even though Soldado scored 13 more league goals during the season.

Santi Cazorla, who missed the South Africa World Cup through injury, makes the squad, as does Atlético's reconverted right back Juanfran, who finally got the nod after Athletic Bilbao reported that defender Andoni Iraola was not fully fit.

Pedro, the Barcelona winger, is also on the plane after scoring twice in Friday's King's Cup final, which Barcelona won 3-0 against Athletic Bilbao.

In the end, only four players from Spain’s 2010 triumph are not present in Del Bosque’s line-up for Poland and Ukraine: David Villa and Carles Puyol are both injured, while defenders Carlos Marchena and Joan Capdevila had both moved into the background after South Africa.
