Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck marry again at second wedding with family and friends

Singer Jennifer Lopez, 53, and actor Ben Affleck, 50, got married again on Saturday in Georgia in a ceremony that was attended by a hundred guests, including the couple’s children. The wedding, which turned into a three-day party, came after the Hollywood couple tied the knot last month in a small ceremony in Las Vegas.

The wedding on Saturday was held in Savannah, on a 35-acre farm owned by Affleck. The property features a large colonial-style house, measuring 560 square meters, two smaller houses for guests, as well as a jetty, where the ceremony was held. The wedding was attended by Affleck’s children with Jennifer Garner – Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10 – and Lopez’s twins with singer Marc Antony – Max and Emme, 14.

According to People magazine, for the ceremony, Lopez wore a mermaid-style dress by Ralph Lauren, with a long train and several-meter-long veil. Affleck wore a white suit jacket, black pants, and a black bow tie. The children and the guests adhered to an all-white dress code.

The couple were married by Jay Shetty, a former Hindu monk turned podcast host, who has become a friend to the stars. Shetty has also married actress Lily Collins, of Emily in Paris fame, and director Charlie McDowell.

Saturday’s wedding, which ended with a fireworks display, was attended by a number of the couple’s friends, including actor Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana Barroso, film director Kevin Smith, comedian Jimmy Kimmel and the powerful Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell. Affleck’s younger brother, Casey Affleck, however did not attend. When asked why he was not at the wedding after being spotted in Los Angeles on Saturday, he replied that he had other things to do.

The rehearsal dinner took place on Friday, the wedding on Saturday and the following day, the couple and their guests held a picnic in the grounds of the estate.

Affleck and Lopez were engaged in 2004, but cancelled the wedding just four days before it was due to take place. A few months later, the couple broke off their relationship. Lopez married Marc Anthony in June 2004, with whom she had twins. They separated amicably in July, 2011. She dated former baseball player Alex Rodriguez for four years. The two were engaged, but the couple called off the wedding in May 2021. A month later, they announced their separation.

In 2005, Affleck married actress Jennifer Garner, with whom he had three children. The couple separated in 2015. They filed for divorce in 2017, and reached an agreement a year later. They maintain a friendly relationship: she helped him during his recovery from alcohol addiction.

After 20 years apart, Lopez and Affleck were photographed together in the spring of 2021. The romance culminated in a wedding in Las Vegas on July 17, after which they went on a romantic honeymoon to Paris. Now it has been topped off with the big party they both wanted.
