The eighth and final Running of the Bulls at Sanfermines 2015 featured bulls from the Miura stockbreeder in Seville, and lasted just two minutes five seconds, the fastest time since records began.

According to early information from the Red Cross and the local hospital, only one runner was taken to hospital, having been left with a head injury on Mercaderes street.

For 300 meters or so the bulls were spaced out enough for many of the runners to put on a fantastic display

At 8am on the dot, the gate of the pen on the Cuesta de Santo Domingo was opened for the last time this week, and once again the tame bullocks took the lead of the fighting bulls.

The herd began to stretch out somewhat, and there were a few falls on either side of the street with several runners being trampled by the passing animals.

The run down to Mercaderes street passed without incident and the animals made it around the bend without slipping. For 300 meters or so the bulls were spaced out enough for many of the runners to put on a fantastic display, as they ran flat out to keep up with the charging animals.

The herd lost none of its speed as it approached the bullring, but one of the bulls on the left trampled a number of runners who had ended up completely stationary by the fence. There were a number of falls and tramplings at the entrance to the ring itself.

Once in the bullring, the bulls took a direct route toward their pen, the arena once again having been cleared by the dobladores.

The run today marked a total of 348 bulls from the Miura stockbreeder at Sanfermines, with participation in three different centuries: the 19th , 20th and 21st. It is, without a doubt, the most important in the history of the Running of the Bulls, for which it has now amassed 13 official prizes. And from today it holds the record for the fastest run, at two minutes five seconds.

This afternoon, from 6.30pm onward, the bulls that ran the streets of Pamplona on Tuesday morning will be fought in the Monumental de Pamplona bullring by bullfighters Manuel Escribano, Luis Bolívar and Salvador Cortés.
