Galicia chief vacationed in Cascais and Ibiza with drug lord

Premier Alberto Núñez Feijóo made trips in mid-1990s with convicted criminal

Galicia premier Alberto Núñez Feijóo has admitted he also traveled to Cascais in Portugal and to the island of Ibiza with the convicted smuggler Marcial Dorado in the mid-1990s, when he was serving as deputy regional health chief.

Witnesses recall seeing the Popular Party baron - who has been under fire for his links with the imprisoned trafficker ever since EL PAÍS published photos last week of the two men together in Vigo on a boat owned by Dorado 20 years ago - among the guests at New Year's Eve parties held by Dorado in a hotel in the Portuguese town, as well as at celebrations at a home he owned on the Galician island of Arousa.

Feijóo also admitted to EL PAÍS that he had traveled to Ibiza where Dorado usually spent part of his summer holidays - though always in the company of other people.
