Defense Ministry suspends navy sex abuse suspect
The Spanish navy responded immediately to EL PAÍS's revelations Friday that an investigation into a lieutenant, accused of threatening or blackmailing five ratings if they didn't have sex with him, may have been derailed by military officials.
The head of the navy, Manuel Rebollo, ordered that the suspect, who has only been identified by the initials I. E. M., be temporarily removed from his post, before the sub-secretary of defense ordered him to be immediately suspended.
