Spanish court issues arrest warrant for alleged Nazi John Demjanjuk
Man thought to be Treblinka killer "Ivan the Terrible"
High Court Judge Ismael Moreno on Friday issued an international warrant for John Demjanjuk, suspected of being Treblinka death camp guard "Ivan the Terrible."
Moreno indicted Demjanjuk on charges of accessory to genocide and crimes against humanity for the deaths of 60 Spanish prisoners at the Flossenbuerg concentration camp.
Demjanjuk is on trial in Germany as an accessory to more than 28,000 counts of murder at the Sobibor death camp. Demjanjuk claims he was a Red Army prisoner of war and is being mistaken for someone else. He was sentenced to death in 1988, but the Israeli Supreme Court quashed the verdict.
