Vueling to open new operational base in Toulose airport
Low-costs carrier to increase number of operating bases to eight before summer season
Spanish low-cost carrier Vueling said Tuesday it will start to operate out of Toulouse airport in southwest France from the end of April of next year.
Vueling said the addition of Toulouse would increase its number of its hubs to eight ahead of the summer season. The Toulouse base will initially have one plane, with flights offered to seven European cities and connections to 40 destinations through Vueling's operations at El Prat airport in Barcelona. Vueling plans to invest 30 million euros in the Toulouse base, which will generate about 150 jobs, directly and indirectly.
Separately, Vueling said its load factor in October rose to 75.0 percent from 73.0 percent a year earlier as the number of passengers carried climbed 15.7 percent to 976,942.
