Where and when to watch the Oscars 2022 in the Americas
The 94th Academy Awards are back at the Dolby Theater following two years of pandemic, and for the first time they will be hosted by three female comedians
The 94th Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, March 27, in Los Angeles following two years of a pandemic that shut down movie theaters and halted film productions across the world.
The Dolby Theater will once again house at a highly anticipated ceremony that has not one but three hosts this year: Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall.
The favorite to win the best picture award this year is Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog, which reinterprets the masculinity of westerns. Mexico is represented by directors Guillermo del Toro with Nightmare Alley and Carlos López Estrada with Raya and the Last Dragon; Germaine Franco will represent Colombia with the animated film Encanto, which is nominated in the best musical score category, and Chile’s Hugo Covarrubias is hoping for a win in the best animated short film category with Bestia.
