¿Qué? S04E4: The coronavirus quarantine in Madrid and drama at Barajas airport
This week we speak to EL PAÍS correspondent Jaime Santirso, who was evacuated from the Chinese city of Wuhan last week, and recount the drone sightings and emergency landing in the Spanish capital on Monday
This week on our ¿Qué? podcast, we speak to Jaime Santirso, the EL PAÍS correspondent who was among the group of Spaniards evacuated last week from the Chinese city of Wuhan, the epicenter of the ongoing novel coronavirus outbreak. Jaime is currently in a Madrid hospital where he will be staying for a two-week quarantine period. He explains to us what he found on arrival in Wuhan, and details his experiences of returning to Spain.
We also discuss the drama at Madrid’s Barajas Airport on Monday, which began when flights were suspended due to drone sightings, and continued when an Air Canada flight had to make an emergency landing.
¿Qué? is a podcast that tries to explain to an English-speaking audience the curious, the under-reported and sometimes simply bizarre news stories that are often in the headlines in Spain.
