British Prime Minister David Cameron and his family arrived in Lanzarote on Thursday to spend their Easter break, just as they did two years ago.

Cameron, his wife Samantha and their three children landed at the airport at 11.30am, Canary Islands time, on an EasyJet flight from London-Gatwick.

The family will stay in a hotel near the Castillo de las Coloradas, in Playa Blanca

Guacimeta Airport sources said the Camerons were ushered into the room reserved for authorities, located close to the spot on the runway where the aircraft touched down.

The Camerons left the airport in a vehicle convoy that included security detail for the British leader and his family during their vacation on the Spanish island.

Between now and their departure on March 30, the family will stay in a hotel near the Castillo de las Coloradas, in Playa Blanca, in the southern part of Lanzarote.

The 49-year-old politician has been vacationing in Spain for years. Granada, Mallorca and Ibiza are some of his favorite destinations, although Lanzarote appears to be his top choice.
