‘Harry Potter’ star Daniel Radcliffe grows a pair in supernatural thriller ‘Horns’

Daniel Radcliffe continues his eclectic post-Harry Potter career in supernatural thriller Horns. The one-time wizard stars as a DJ suspected of raping and murdering his girlfriend (Juno Temple), and who wakes up hungover one morning to find two devil-like horns sprouting from the top of his head. As well as giving him a whole new look, they also provide him with the power to wheedle out people’s darkest secrets, perfect for helping him track down the real killer of his partner. French director Alexandre Aja directs this adaption of Joe Hill’s novel.
A prequel to the first two films in the horror series, Insidious: Chapter 3 sees franchise screenwriter Leigh Whannell take over from James Wan in the director’s chair. Stefanie Scott plays a teenage girl affected by the same supernatural being that targeted the Lambert family in the original movies with Dermot Mulroney as her father and Lin Shaye as the psychic who agrees to help her.
Critically panned comedy Unfinished Business stars Vince Vaughn as an entrepreneur who heads to Germany to finalize a major deal for his business with employees Tom Wilkinson and Dave Franco, only for everything to spiral out of control. Sienna Miller, Nick Frost and James Marsden also feature in this film by Ken Scott, who previously directed Vaughn in Delivery Man.
Conforming to the norm
Spanish actress Leticia Dolera directs and stars in Requisitos para ser una persona normal, a comedy about a 30-year-old jobless, homeless and boyfriend-less woman, who decides to remake her life in order to conform to “normality.”
German master of suspense Christian Petzold’s Phoenix stars Nina Hoss as an Auschwitz survivor who returns to Berlin disfigured after being shot in the face. After surgery transforms her appearance, she goes in search of her husband, who believes she is dead and may also have been the one who betrayed her.
