TV presenter Álvaro Bultó dies in wingsuit accident in Alps

Extreme-sports enthusiast had another accident in June, during a flight in Benidorm

TV presenter and extreme-sports enthusiast Álvaro Bultó died on Friday morning in an accident while wingsuit flying in the Swiss Alps. He was 51.

Bultó was well-known for his roles on TV game shows such as diving contest Splash and Mira quien baila (Look who’s dancing). For 13 years he directed and presented Frontera límite (Boundary limit), a show about adventure sports.

The son of Francisco Bultó, the founder of the Bultaco and Montesa motorbike companies, he was also the uncle of former Grand Prix motorcyclist Sete Gibernau. In his youth, he too was a motorcyclist.

Bultó had another accident in June, during a wingsuit flight in Benidorm. While attempting to land on the beach, he fell short, and suffered mild injuries as he crashed onto a hotel roof.
