Man stabs partner before turning knife on himself
Last week saw four women die at their partners’ hands in domestic violence cases
A 64-year-old woman was taken to a Seville hospital in a serious condition Sunday after being stabbed repeatedly by her partner, police sources reported. The attacker then turned the knife on himself, in an apparent attempt to take his life by stabbing his own stomach. The suspect was being held in police custody on Sunday night.
Neighbors said they had never seen the couple fight before, and authorities confirmed that the victim had never filed a complaint against her partner.
This is the latest case of domestic violence in a week that has already seen four women die at their partners’ hands.
On Saturday, the government announced new plans to combat domestic abuse.
