Motorists on Spanish roads over the Easter weekend could find themselves being tailed from the sky. The DGT highway safety agency on Thursday unveiled a new traffic helicopter radar system, which it plans to put in use during the extended holiday.

The radar, which will be installed in 19 choppers, can measure a vehicle's speed and record video from an altitude of 1,000 meters. DGT director María Seguí said the radar system took six years to develop.
