Bulgarian man arrested over bizarre murder in Tenerife
A British woman died in Tenerife on Friday morning after a man walked into the supermarket in which she was shopping and cut off her head with a knife. Emergency services were alerted to the incident after they received a call saying a man had been spotted carrying a head down a street in the municipality of Arona, in the south of the island.
According to police sources, the alleged assailant, a Bulgarian man known in the area and with prior convictions, walked into a Chinese supermarket in the Valdés Center shopping mall, stole a knife and, without a word, attacked the 60-year-old woman. He was later arrested by police. There was no apparent motive for the attack.
