Website faces court action for describing politician as "rapeable"
Online paper Periodista Digital included defamatory comments about Isabel Rodríguez García
The public prosecutor in Toledo has taken action against a website for hosting humiliating comments about Castilla-La Mancha regional government spokeswoman Isabel Rodríguez García.
In June 2010 the online newspaper Periodista digital included lewd remarks about the Socialist politician on its webpage. One comment, from a person using the alias Ciudadín, said "this girl is totally rapable." Another signed by 11m=psoeta called her a "whore, slut, thief and layabout." The prosecutor requested the IP addresses of those who sent the comments.
The Castilla-La Mancha government sent an official notification to the publication a few days ago asking it to remove "content that is insulting or incites violence" against Rodríguez, but the site editor said he had no knowledge of the request.
