In June, Spanish soccer player Gerard Piqué and Colombian singer Shakira announced they were separating after nearly 12 years together. In a short, joint statement, they stated: “We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we request respect for our privacy. Thank you for your understanding.” Five months after their separation, the former couple reached a child custody agreement. Under the deal, Shakira will live in Miami with their two children, Sasha, 11, and Milan, nine. At the beginning of November, Piqué announced his surprise retirement from soccer.
