Bradley Cooper and Gigi Hadid confirm relationship, holding hands in London

It has taken just over three months to confirm the obvious: that Bradley Cooper, 49, and Gigi Hadid, 28, are a couple. On Thursday, photographs, obtained exclusively by the U.S. website Page Six, show the model and actor together, walking the streets of London, laughing and, for the first time, holding hands.

On Tuesday, the same outlet caught them leaving an airport in New York City, dressed casually, with sunglasses, and their suitcase and passport in hand. Surrounded by the model’s round-the-clock security staff, it’s now been revealed that Hadid — one of the highest paid models in the fashion industry — and Cooper — the actor and director of Oscar-nominated movie Maestro — were taking a flight to London.

It was early last October when the two were first spotted going to dinner together in Manhattan. The actor and model were snapped by the British tabloid Daily Mail, leaving Via Carota, an expensive Italian restaurant in New York’s West Village, and getting into the same car together. But that was the end of it. After that, the two were seen together a few more times in discrete settings. Some media outlets reported that they had been to the Rhode Island home of singer Taylor Swift, who is a good friend of Hadid’s, and that they had spent a few days together in Pennsylvania — Cooper’s home state — in November.

In the fall, they both tried to quiet the rumors, but people close to them said that they were spending “every day together” and that their relationship was going strong. The rumors intensified in mid-December, when Page Six claimed that Cooper had bought a farm in New Hope, Pennsylvania, just 62 miles from New York. The property is very close to one owned by Yolanda Hadid, former model and the Hadid matriarch. Indeed, it’s where Gigi and her sister, supermodel Bella Hadid, stayed during the Covid-19 lockdown. Gigi Hadid gave birth to her daughter at a farm she owned in the area, but it is not known if she still owns it.

Hadid was in a relationship with former One Direction member Zayn Malik, who she met in late 2015. The two quickly became one of the most-watched celebrity couples, even appearing on the cover of Vogue in August 2017. In March 2018, the two announced they were breaking up, but later continued to have an on-and-off relationship.

In September 2020, the two announced that they had welcomed a baby girl, Kai. A year later, the couple broke up following an alleged physical altercation between Malik and Yolanda Hadid. The singer pleaded no contest to four counts of harassment, and was put on 90 days of probation for each count. He also had to complete and anger management class and a domestic violence program.

“The most valuable thing that I have in life is time and that takes so much time in a toxic environment, to like, explain yourself to people and justify this. So I just kind of keep to myself,” Malik said cryptically in a podcast when asked about the incident.

Since Malik, Hadid has had few relationships, although she dated actor Leonardo DiCaprio for a few months between 2022 and mid-2023.

While Hadid has a three-year-old daughter, Cooper has a daughter named Lea de Seine, who will turn seven at the end of March. The daughter is the product of Cooper’s relationship with Russian supermodel Irina Shayk, who previously dated Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.

Shayk and Cooper went public as a couple in 2015, but the two remained a discrete relationship: they never married and only once posed together, at the Golden Globes in January 2019. In June that year, the couple announce they were breaking up. “I think we’ve been very lucky to experience what we had with each other,” Shayk told Vogue magazine in 2020, though she later added that, “Life without B [Bradley] is new ground.”

This past summer, Shayk was spotted with American football player Tom Brady, ex-husband of Brazilian model Gisele Bündchen.

Shortly before he started dating Shayk, Cooper was in a two-year relationship with British model Suki Waterhouse (who just announced she is expecting a child with her partner, actor Robert Pattinson). Cooper also dated actresses Zoe Saldaña and Renée Zellweger. Cooper has only been married once, to American actress and dancer Jennifer Esposito. Their marriage, in 2006, lasted only four months.
