The touching gesture by Barça junior team after beating Japanese rivals
Players are seen consoling their opponents after a World Challenge Cup game in Tokyo
Players from the F.C. Barcelona junior team displayed great sportsmanship to their older counterparts after beating their Japanese rivals from the Omiya Ardija soccer club in the final of the World Cup Challenge, which was played out on Sunday in Tokyo. The under-12 players quickly went from celebrating their 1-0 victory to consoling their devastated rivals with hugs and words of encouragement. It was a touching gesture to end a championship during which the youngest of the club’s players notched up some notable victories, such as the semifinal, during which they beat one of the favorite teams, Tokyo Verdy, 4-0.
