Briton arrested over death of German who filmed his daughter in Sotogrande

Victim had recently been arrested for possessing child pornography, Civil Guard says

An argument over the filming of a child at a restaurant in San Roque (Cádiz) ended in the death of a German man on Saturday.

Kainth Devinder, a British national, first recriminated Sandro Rottman for filming his daughter with a mobile device, but the latter kept recording despite the warnings. Devinder then allegedly struck the German on the head who died after being admitted to hospital.

The victim “had been arrested a few days earlier for being in possession of child pornography,” according to the Civil Guard.

The incident took place at a restaurant in the port area of the luxury development

The incident took place at a restaurant called Spinnaker, located in the port area of the luxury Sotogrande residential development, the Civil Guard reported. It was security guards at Sotogrande who phoned the police and the emergency services.

An ambulance took the German national to hospital in La Línea de la Concepción, where he died.

The alleged attacker went home, where he was arrested after the Civil Guard heard testimony from eyewitnesses at the restaurant.

The argument erupted after the British man noticed another man making a recording of his daughter on a tablet device.
