Suspected Al Qaeda recruiter arrested

A 37-year-old Moroccan man has been arrested by the Civil Guard in La Línea de la Concepción (Cádiz province) for his alleged links to the Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) terrorist organization and glorifying terrorism via an internet forum, the Interior Ministry has revealed.

Abdellatif Aoulad Chiba, who also stands accused of belonging to a terrorist group, is thought to be the administrator of a radical jihadist web forum dedicated to recruiting new members, training terrorists by distributing manuals and encouraging attacks. Married to a Spaniard and with at least one child, he had previously been expelled from Jordan as a consequence of his activities there.

The Civil Guard removed substances from Abdellatif's home for analysis, but early hypotheses suggested they were not explosives.
