75th Emmy Awards: How to watch live and everything else you need to know

2023 didn’t have an Emmy Awards ceremony. Although the 75th edition of the awards was set to take place last year in September, due to the Hollywood labor disputes it was postponed to next January 15, 2024, which means this year will have two Emmy ceremonies.

The 75th Emmy Awards will honor the best in American television programming from June 1, 2022, until May 31, 2023, following the rules of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. This is the reason why some TV shows that ended a while back are still in the list of nominees, while most recent shows will not be recognized until the next awards ceremony.

When are the 75th Emmy Awards?

The 75th Emmy Awards will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024. They are presented live from the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, California. The ceremony was to be held in September 2023, however, it was delayed due to the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes, which ended on September 27.

How to watch the Emmy Awards live?

The ceremony will be broadcast on FOX at 5:00 p.m. PT/ 8:00 p.m. ET on January 15. There won’t be a live stream, but it will be available to stream the next day on Hulu.

Who will host the Emmy Awards?

In December 2023, Anthony Anderson was announced as the host for the 75th Emmy Awards. Anderson is an American actor and comedian who is best known for his role in the Emmy-Award winning comedy series Black-ish. He’s also known for his roles in films like Kangaroo Jack, The Departed, Transformers and Small Town Crime.

Who are the nominees?

Jeremy Allen White (The Bear), Melanie Lynskey (Yellowjackets), Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us), Ali Wong (Beef) and Evan Peters (Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story) are just some of the actors who are nominated for an Emmy.

Succession is the most nominated show of the night with 14 nods. The series has become the first to receive three nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong and Kieran Culkin, all stars of the show, will compete for the award. The White Lotus, Beef, Ted Lasso, Barry and The Bear are among the series who have multiple nominations.
