Oscar Nominations 2022: The complete list
The 94th Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, March 27 at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles
Los Angeles’ Dolby Theater is once again preparing to dress to the nines for this year’s Oscars ceremony on Sunday, March 27. In early February, the Academy announced the list of nominees in the running for the coveted statues. This year’s event is the first since films returned to the big screens after the Covid-19 pandemic. After the 2021 edition passed with little fanfare and the Golden Globe awards were shaken by scandal, the Oscars are returning with hopes of getting back to some kind of normality. Spanish actors Javier Bardem, Penélope Cruz and Alberto Iglesias have been nominated for Best Actor, Best Actress and best soundtrack, respectively. Steven Spielberg’s seven nominations for West Side Story – Best Film, Director, Supporting Actress, Cinematography, Producton, Costume Design and Sound – now make him the director whose films have received the most Oscar nominations. Spielberg’s 138 nominations surpass those of William Wyler, who previously held the record.
