¿Qué? S04E3: Brexit and rock-bottom rents in Madrid
This week, we discuss how Brexit will affect Britons living in Spain, and why some tenants are able to pay as little as €7 a month for an apartment in the capital
This week on our podcast we have a quick look at what is going to change on Friday when the United Kingdom leaves the European Union (spoiler: not much), and we also examine why some lucky tenants in high-class areas of the Spanish capital are paying rock-bottom rents – and why investors are keen to snap up these properties, even if they have to wait decades for a return on their investment.
We also consider a plan from far-right party Vox to give parents a veto over courses given to their students covering issues such as the prevention of homophobia, sexual abuse and teenage pregnancy.
¿Qué? is a podcast that tries to explain to an English-speaking audience the curious, the under-reported and sometimes simply bizarre news stories that are often in the headlines in Spain.
