Taylor Swift’s ‘getaway car’: This is the convertible she’s been spotted in with Travis Kelce
The singer-songwriter and the football player left the Kansas City Chiefs’ stadium in a classic seventies car
Taylor Swift is having the time of her life. The singer, known as Miss Americana, began 2023 with her Eras Tour, a musical tour ending in August 2024 but that is on pause right now. Meanwhile, the songstress hasn’t missed out on the opportunity to find love again, a love that has set tongues wagging among her vast community of fans.
Rumor has it that the singer-songwriter is in a relationship with American football player Travis Kelce, and there’s photographic evidence to prove it. Taylor attended the last two Kansas City Chiefs games to cheer on Travis, where she was also seen with the player’s mother.
These images drove Taylor’s most loyal followers into a frenzy. The Swifties immediately began to investigate and spread the rumor. And it seems that neither of the lovers is hiding, since both were seen on several occasions leaving the Chiefs’ stadium together.
Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce, and a classic car
In one of those “escapes,” the couple of the moment was seen in one of the cars in Travis’s collection, since he is also something of a motorhead. The automobile in question? A 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible. A classic by any standard.
However, the iconic, burgundy-colored car is hiding something unique. And it is that Travis wanted to modify it to make it electric. Under the hood, it has a Tesla Model S powertrain with 400 horsepower, rear-wheel drive, and an 87 kWh battery, which gives it a range of about 400 kilometers (250 miles).
Taylor’s appearance in the car with Travis sparked the Swiftie element of his fanbase into life, as one of Taylor’s most popular songs is Getaway Car. She uses the idea of a getaway car as a metaphor to explain how a relationship cannot start well if you start it there, that is, dating one person to forget another. Therefore, fans humorously say that Taylor is in her Getaway Car with Travis.
