The northern Spanish city of Pamplona is gearing up for the seventh “running of the bulls”at this year’s San Fermín festival. Experts are forecasting a fast and dangerous race, as animals from the Jandilla ranch in Extremadura have gored people 30 times in 18 runs in the past, for an average of 1.7 per run. Last year, the Jandilla bulls covered the route in two minutes and 13 seconds, one of the fastest races on record.

The encierro, as the races are known in Spanish, will take place at 8am. EL PAÍS will provide video coverage, photo galleries and a play-by-play report by our expert Antonio Lorca. Follow one of the world’s most adrenaline-filled events here.
