Ryanair begins major cabin crew recruitment drive in Spain
The Irish budget airline began interviewing candidates in Mallorca on Monday
Budget airline Ryanair is planning to create 2,000 cabin crew positions in 2017 in order to deal with the company’s growth. The Irish carrier has 50 new aircraft on order for the coming year, and is aiming to fly a total of 180 million passengers in 2024.
The contracts on offer will be for three years, with a monthly salary of €1,200. The selection process got going on Monday in Mallorca, according to news agency Europa Press.
The low-cost company’s draft for new employees will continue in Málaga (December 1), Barcelona (December 2), Seville (December 7), Madrid and Granada (December 8) and Valencia (December 17), before returning to Barcelona once more (December 21), as well as Madrid and Malaga (December 22). The company will also be carrying out simultaneous employment drives in Poland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Bulgaria and Portugal, albeit on a smaller scale.

The recruitment will be carried out by RyanAir’s cabin crew service provider Crewlink.
Ryanair currently counts on a workforce of around 11,500 people, and will be hoping to generate more than 5,000 jobs with this new recruitment drive. The company, which is headed by colorful businessman Michael O’Leary, currently has a fleet of 350 Boeing 737s, with an additional 315 planes due for delivery. The company is aiming to fly a total of 180 million passengers a year in 2024, on a fleet of 560 planes.
