Hollywood star Brad Pitt has joined the list of celebrities to buy a villa in Mallorca, paying €3.5 million for a property in Port d’Andratx, some 25 kilometers west of the capital, Palma, according to real estate agent Alessandro Proto.

“Brad Pitt fell in love with the Balearic Islands after filming his latest movie in the Canaries, and he tasked us with finding him a house in Mallorca,” said Proto.

Paparazzi have surrounded Pitt’s new seaside property in an upscale development in Andratx’s marina, but so far there have been no sightings of the actor.

Among the other A-list celebrities to acquire homes on the Mediterranean island in recent years are Michael Douglas, although his exclusive property at S’Estaca, on the island’s north coast, is up for sale at €50 million.

German supermodel Claudia Schiffer is also a long-time Mallorca property owner, while tennis player Boris Becker sold his house in the north of the island.
