The study Estructura de velocidades sísmicas del volcán Popocatépetl, México, a partir de campos difusivos (Structure of seismic velocities of the Popocatépetl volcano, Mexico, via diffusion fields), which was published in the journal ScienceDirect, states that the model will better allow for the anticipation of future eruptive episodes. “What we do, literally, is generate a radiography of its interior, only it’s three-dimensional. This represents an advantage because it allows us to turn ‘Popo’ around and observe how seismic waves propagate within it,” explains Marco Calò, lead researcher of the Geophysics Institute project. One of the innovations presented by the illustration, which makes use of artificial intelligence, is the possibility of constructing tomographies in four dimensions in the future.

Seguir leyendo

Illustration of tridimensional model of Popocatépetl.

Frida Guzmán, El Chapo’s granddaughter, hopes to make a name for herself in music

Joaquín Patiño

The single ‘Andas contando’ featuring Cecy Millan is the first original song she has released

The life of Frida Sofía Guzmán Muñoz is a story in itself: the 19-year-old is the daughter of Edgar Guzmán López and Frida Muñoz, granddaughter of Mexican drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, and stepdaughter of Julio César Chávez Jr. But Guzmán Muñoz wants to forge her own story as a musician.

Seguir leyendo

Frida Muñoz, the granddaughter of Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán.

Meet MrBeast, the controversial YouTuber with millions of followers

Joaquín Patiño

The content creator has nearly 400 million subscribers on one of his channels — the highest number on the platform.
